TEACHING

Professor Katz’s teaching interests lie in modern Middle East history from the late Ottoman period to the present. Her courses introduce students to urban history, history of refugees, the history and historiography of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Arab uprisings, and range from freshman seminars to lecture courses to the Department’s senior capstone seminar.

Professor Katz led the development of a minor in Human Rights & History that launched in Fall 2019. The minor introduces students to the topic of human rights across history and to a human rights-related internship in a field of their choosing, in consultation with a faculty advisor.
